Deer and Elk Tags

Fort Hunter Liggett (FHL) does not issue deer and elk tags. Since 2021, all deer and elk tags are issued by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (https://wildlife.ca.gov/Licensing/Hunting).

See the California Big Game Hunting Digest for details on FHL hunts and all of the State’s, deer and elk hunts, tags and seasons. FHL makes no guarantees that these hunts will occur, or compensation to tag holders, if the hunts do not take place. Applying for or receiving a FHL deer or elk tag provides no obligations or agreements on behalf of FHL. FHL reserves the right to reschedule or cancel these hunts, and/or to close to the public, at any time without prior notice.
