- IT'S FALL AND CHANGE IS IN THE AIR -
Fort Hunter Liggett (FHL) is transitioning our Hunting and Fishing Program from the HuntTrac system run by Directorate of Family, Morale, Welfare & Recreation, Outdoor Recreation to the iSportsman system to be operated by the Directorate of Public Works, Environmental Division. This change will take effect for the hunting and fishing seasons starting in 2018.
iSportsman (iSportsman.net) is a web-based system used at more than 35 Department of Defense facilities to manage recreational hunting and fishing. FHL iSportsman is accessible by computer or smart-phone. Hunters and anglers will be able to use iSportsman to purchase FHL permits, check-in and -out of hunting areas and fishing reservoirs, report game harvested or fish caught, and more. California license, tags and stamp requirements, bag limits, and seasons will not be affected.
For fishing, we will begin selling 2018 FHL Fishing Permits through FHL iSportsman December 2017, once the 2018 California Fishing licenses become available. Mandatory FHL iSportsman check-in and check-out for anglers will begin on January 1, 2018, at the start of the 2018 California Fishing season. Annual Fishing Permits expire each year on December 31st.
For hunting, we will begin selling 2018/19 FHL Hunting Permits through FHL iSportsman April 2018, once the 2018/19 California Hunting licenses become available. Mandatory FHL iSportsman check-in and check-out for hunters will begin on July 1, 2018, at the start of the 2018/19 California Hunting season. Annual Hunting Permits expire each year on June 30th.
